What Kind of Career Can You Expect?
Auto body specialists work in auto repair, vehicle painting, car detailing, and custom painting shops, as well as dealership service departments. Many choose to be self-employed and open their own business for auto body repair.

The work is physical and demanding, but fulfilling-auto body techs bring dramatic results to all types of damaged vehicles. This career offers opportunities for technical precision, mechanical skills, and creative style.

What is the Outlook for Job Opportunities and Pay?
A high-tech career in automotive and light truck repair gives you job mobility with the security of knowing your skills will always be in demand.

Salaries for auto body technicians are related to ability, employer needs, and industry standards. Many techs are paid on a commission basis.

This program is ASE-certified in painting and refinishing, nonstructural analysis and damage repair, mechanical/electrical components, and plastic and refinishing.

- Mechanical aptitude 
- Manual dexterity 
- Solid math skills 
- Good eyesight 
- Awareness of potential health
   risks from dust and paint
   particles, especially for asthma
   and allergies
